PDF preview of the magazine

adobe-pdf-logo

A lot of people requested a PDF preview of the magazine to read  on desktop computers and eventually print the articles. We’ve just created a PDF version of the first issue. Although you’ll get in the PDF all the pages of the digital magazine, we’ll call it “preview” because you’ll miss all the interactive parts: interactive samples within the tutorials, videos, links to external websites, showcase panoramas, interactive comments, etc… We’ll automatically publish a PDF preview per issue on this website (in the Download section).

Link to the PDF preview of the first issue: http://appliness.com/code/Appliness-01-preview.pdf

Thanks again for your feedback. I hope that you’ll like it.

Why not we have a desktop version of the app? If the magazine talks about web applications which are built on HTML5, I would assume this app is written in that manner, which means why can’t we run it in a browser, or have a desktop stand alone version?

Hi Paul, the magazine is built with Adobe DPS. It’s a native app on iOS and an AIR app on Android. It’s not built with HTML5 because today, you cannot get an efficient workflow and a consistent output across platforms. But it might change in a near future. Adobe and other companies are currently working on a new specification called CSS Regions that might solve everything.
